Who is responsible

I'm Miles Edwards, and I'm the data controller for this site and its newsletter. You can reach me about anything on this page at miles.mfe@gmail.com.

Browsing this site

There are no cookies, analytics or trackers here. The fonts are served from this site too, so your visit isn't shared with anyone else.

Like any web server, mine keeps short-lived logs of the requests it receives (your IP address, your browser and the pages asked for), to keep the site secure and working. The repositories in the GitHub section are fetched by my server, so your browser never contacts GitHub.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, I collect your email address and your first name, plus your last name if you give it. I use them only to send you the newsletter, and to greet you by name.

To stop abuse, the signup form remembers your IP address and email address for up to an hour, only in memory, to limit repeated attempts. Neither is stored.

Why I'm allowed to

I rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time, with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing me.

Who else is involved

Subscribers are stored, and emails are sent, by Brevo, a French email provider that processes your details on my behalf and only on my instructions. Brevo's privacy policy explains how it looks after them. Nobody else receives your details, and I never sell them.

How long I keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or ask me to delete it. After you unsubscribe, Brevo may keep a record that you did, so that you're never emailed again.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, to restrict or object to how I use them, or for a copy to take elsewhere. Email me, and I'll reply within a month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top will change with it.
